Sun roof

The sun roof
opens to let the sunshine in,
let heat beat down,
wind ruffle hair,
stir the skin
with breezes.
If heat or wind prove
overmuch for comfort,
it closes tight,
tilts backside up
creates a more constrained
exposure.

Even closed,
the sun roof has its uses,
can mirror your journey,
reflect where you've been,
how far you've traveled,
what you've seen,
if you take the time to look,
at what frames itself
for your inspection.

The sun roof,
opens your journey
to the sky,
focuses its brightest rays,
reveals shadows,
composes who you are in
where you've been
and what you've hoped for
what you've done,
and gives it back
radiantly
to you.
